The demands on infra­struc­ture are chan­ging con­sider­a­bly, espe­ci­ally in cities; many large cities are mas­si­vely expan­ding their public trans­port infra­struc­ture. In the course of these expan­sion mea­su­res, the daily traf­fic volume should be affec­ted as little as pos­si­ble. Free­ways, sub­ur­ban and sub­way rail­roads and freight traf­fic are to be lar­gely relo­ca­ted under­ground so that noise pol­lu­tion can be redu­ced to a mini­mum in future and the sur­faces can be used for resi­den­tial exten­si­ons. TUNNEL ALBERBERG 

The com­mis­sio­ned con­s­truc­tion sec­tion BA5 runs over a total length of approx. 9 km east of the town of Son­tra and con­nects to the A4 at the vil­lage of Wom­men. Among other things, AUGUST REINERS is buil­ding the tun­nel its­elf, some retai­ning walls and two underpasses.
